A couple of weeks ago my sister asked me on how to get a marriage license and its procedures of getting marriage. She wanted to get married soon probably this coming December of the present year with her Chinese lover of Batangas as what she describes. She want her wedding to be held in one of the parish here in Davao City particularly in Maa, the Saint Francis of Asisi church because she finds it so beautiful and just perfect enough for her ideal wedding ceremony. I inquired this morning regarding on the procedures since both couples are not from this town or shall I say my sister grew up here but she made her life in Manila after graduating college and eventually gets an opportunity abroad in Australia. The church requirements are so simple. all they need is to submit a baptismal and confirmation certificates and needs to attend a Pre-cana seminar which is compulsory to all soon to be couples even couples who are living in and have children still needs to attend this kind of seminar. It is a pre-requisite seminar for couples who want to get married. Since the person concerned resides in Bangkal area, she needs to secure a clearance from the parish where she belongs. In this case my sister needs to get a clearance from the Saint Paul parish located in Juna subdivision and submit it to the Saint Francis of Asisi church in Maa. The wedding fees for the the St. Francis church is just minimal, A couple should pay the amount of three thousand pesos for the church, 50 pesos for each Ninang and Ninong, (wedding sponsors), and 200 pesos for the marriage registration. The church will asked an extra charge of 500 pesos for an electricity charge used by the video coverage hired by the couples. So to you sis!! good luck on your plans, I hope this information that I posted could satisfy your eagerness to become a member of the club (giggles).... "Just a reminder" ... every person in this planet have the right to be happy and having a partner for life is one way where one can express her/his true feelings and share his dreams and ambitions. Good Luck to you Sis!!!
