Even though there's an increase in popularity of the Davao Death Squad (DDS) in the entire Philippines, that reaches to other countries, Davao City economy still at its nice status.
The tourism industry easily fluctuates its ratings whenever, there are issues of summary killings and bomb threats. City tourism office proves that there is a rapid increase of tourist visitors both coming from local and foreign inspite of it's negative reports.
Sonia Garcia, Department of Tourism (DOT) director, confirms that even though "DDS" or the liquidation squad is so popular in the entire world, still local and foreign visitors are keep on coming.
City Mayor, Rodrigo Roa Duterte of Davao is not bothered about the issues of the so called "DDS". He even tackled in his weekly Abs-Cbn programme on television "Gikan sa Masa Para sa Masa", that not a single person could testify and confirm that the Davao Death Squad is present.

Duterte added that the report of Chris Rogers of CNN, is a big mistake. Duterte said during those previous years, the police, military and the local government officials didn't know also even a single member of the said group. Commission on human rights (CHR) conducted an investigation, but up to now they can't prove and identify due to lack of evidence.
Duterte agrees that there are killings that happened in Davao City, but it should not be link to the liquidation group because, it is an isolated case and most of this are personal.
The chief of PRO XI, Andres Caro was interviewed on television. He said, issues regarding DDS was very much inflated. Statistics provided by the militant group, stating that there were 292 killed by the said liquidation group is not true and it is a mere allegation
