Christmas is a wonderful season. Its a day of giving joy to each and everyone, sharing gifts to relatives and friends and remembering love ones but Christmas is celebrated by Davaoenos differently. Davao City during the old days celebrates yuletide season in a traditional way their were exchanging of gifts, lots of parties, reunions of old classmates and friends and the finale is the "firecrackers". Since Rodrigo Roa Duterte, City Mayor of Davao sets the policy of "No to Firecrackers"then, people of Davao cooperated. You cannot see even one stall owner selling firecrackers, businessmen engage in firecracker business are not prevented to sell their item but they were not given permits, as a result they moved their product outside Davao to make their business profitable. A silent Christmas in Davao makes the hospitals, ambulance, mobile patrol personnel spend their Christmas too, for they have less patients to deliver due to firecracker incidents.
